Sesame Hoisin Stir Fry

Sesame Hoisin Stir-fry with white rice

This crowd-pleasing stir-fry recipe is not too hard to make, and the sauce is Deee-licious. Hoisin sauce is savory + sweet, which is a combo many Americans love. My special favorite hoisin sauce is Soy Vay brand Hoisin Garlic Sauce because it is so tasty. Also it's vegan! In Walmart, it used to be in the Asian food section, but now it’s been moved to the marinade section, near BBQ sauce. By the way, Soy Vay and Walmart are not in any way paying me to advertise for them J

If your family is smaller than mine, you may want to halve the following recipe.

My favorite hoisin sauce
Ingredients:
2  Recipes Fried Tofu
½ c. Dry roasted peanuts, chopped
2 Tbsp. Sesame seeds
2 Tbsp. Ginger root, peeled & grated
2 16-oz. Packages frozen stir-fry vegetables
16-22 oz. Hoisin sauce
4 Green onions, sliced

Rice (white or brown)
Directions:

1. Peel ginger root with a potato peeler or knife, then grate it.
Ginger root: peeled, unpeeled, & grated
2. Prepare double recipe of fried tofu (go to Fried Tofu How-to), but add sesame seeds and fresh ginger root to tofu-corn starch mixture before deep-frying. When you’ve finished frying the tofu, set it aside and discard extra oil from the pan, but save the oily pan for stir-frying the vegetables.
Sesame-fried tofu…delectable!
3. Thaw frozen vegetables according to package directions.
4. In pan saved from tofu, briefly stir-fry thawed veggies, until warm (2-3 minutes).
5. Add hoisin sauce, and cook a few more minutes, until bubbly.
6. Add fried sesame tofu and half of peanuts and green onions, and cook till heated through.
7. Sprinkle with remaining peanuts and green onions.
8. Serve on rice!
