Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients:
1 lb. (3 ½ c.) powdered sugar
¼ c. margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ c. warm water

Directions:
1. Put margarine in a large mixing bowl and stir with handheld electric mixer.
2. Add 2 c. powdered sugar, vanilla, and water. Mix.
3. Add rest of powdered sugar and mix thoroughly, until lumps are gone.

This is the right consistency to spread on a cake. If you need stiffer frosting (for example, to make sandwich cookies), you can add ¼ c. powdered sugar.

I used “Domino” brand Confectioner’s sugar, “Blue Bonnet” brand margarine, “Domino” brand sugar,  and “Tone’s” brand vanilla extract.

I love homemade frosting!
